Welcome Packet

Who is Raycheal Winters? Well I’m a small independent artist at the start of my journey

My motto: “You’re not everyones cup of tea and you’re not meant to be.” The best piece of advice a friend ever gave me was “embrace who you are because someone out there is looking for a friend exactly like you, and how are they gonna find you if you’re disguised as someone you’re not?”

I believe in embracing life's oddities to connect with folks that get it. But that all starts with tearing down the walls and being honest.

Through my music, I talk about the messy parts of being human by making fun of my own drama and writing about the big, awkward truths we all face.

Thats what my first album “The Wrong Ones” (released in 2022) is all about—learning to be comfortable in my own skin (the album art is super dramatic right? but hey, so was that time in my life 😂).

Since then, I’ve released single tracks in the same vein—just trading some of the angst for growth, and channeling the kind of empowerment that feels earned, not forced.

Starting with “Ghost in the Machine”—the verse lyrics explore unraveling the cycles of trauma we inherit and repeat, while the chorus points a way forward—asking how personal responsibility might help break the pattern. (released in 2024)

Up next was “Criminal,” all about irony of being cast as the villain in someone else’s story, particularly someone who’s done you wrong. It’s an empowerment anthem for those who’ve been unfairly judged, embracing the ‘criminal’ label with wry sarcasm. When someone’s perception distorts reality, why not lean into the role they’ve written for you? (released in 2024)

“For a Minute” (released 2025)

Moving into the next chapter of my life, I met my husband in 2023, and he brought a sort of “calm to the storm” energy every girl hopes to find one day. He taught me the true meaning of the word “acceptance.”

Through knowing him, I learned how to romanticize anything life throws at me, the good and the messy.

We have this running joke: when the GPS is being a turd or we miss a turn and end up on a wildly inefficient detour, we look around and say, “You know, if we hadn’t gotten lost, we might have missed out on the experience of driving past this chain-link fence and broken-down motel—what a blessing.”

That silly way of embracing the detour became a metaphor for how we move through life—finding the silver lining, even if we have to grit our teeth to do it.

That’s exactly what “For a Minute” is about—disguised as a baking adventure gone wrong, but really about rolling with whatever life dishes out

Honestly, since then, my songwriting has been all over the place—pulling from past hurt, present peace, and everything in between. So really, there's no telling what you'll hear from me next. I’ll always have a soft spot for cinematic, dark, melodramatic pop (that’ll never change), but don’t be surprised if a few happy tunes slip in too—because, truthfully, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
